A vegetable no patch should be without – plants produce leaves throughout the year and the bright colours add interest even in the depths of winter.
Sowing instructions:
For early sowings start in Jiffy 7C pellets (available here) or seed trays, then pot on into 7cm pots, and again into 9cm before planting out. Can be sown direct later in the year.
Seeds germinate in 7-14 days.
Growing instructions:
Allow at least 20cm between plants. Harvest regularly throughout the growing season to encourage new growth.
Notes:
One of, if not thr most popular varieties of Chard. Seeds produce yellow, red or white stemmed plants.
