Loofah Plant (Pre-Order)

Young fruits can be eaten, but the main reason for growing this variety is to produce loofah sponges. Just leave the fruits to dry on the plant and then harvest.

Supplied as plugs or in a coir pot that is fully biodegrabable and can be planted straight into the ground.

We'll take the hassle out of germinating the seeds for you!. 

The plants themselves are fairly easy to grow. Treat as you would a pumpkin or a courgette and plant somewhere with plenty of sun; ideally in a polytunnel or large greenhouse and keep well fed. 

Plants will get quite big. It's best to pinch out any sideshoots so that the plant concentrates all of its growth in one place.

Harvest young fruits and use like courgettesm or leave them to mature and dry out then harvest and use as loofah sponges - check out YouTube for how to do this.

Available for local click and collect and nationwide courier delivery throughout the season. Please note, plant may be cut back before postage; it will naturally send up new growth.
